Monique

Monique is a professionally trained vocalist and performer, who studied at Pattison Dancing Academy and College in Coventry and after at the Italia Conti Academy in London. After her training she became part of a trio girl band performing the Kent area. Monique moved to Tenerife in 1993 to work as a solo singer before moving on to performing in successful Madonna and Abba tributes alongside her solo career.

Since returning to the UK she has performed with various bands including Scratch the Cat function band and 80s tribute band, Munch. It was when she was with Munch that she met and performed with Mark and together they decided to set up The Tonics.

Mark

Mark

Mark picked up the guitar in the mid 90s and found that he naturally loved to play rhythm (probably because lead was too hard!!) Mark took up playing the sax around 2004 as he has always loved the instrument. He is a huge fan of Madness and loves the colour yellow!! 🙂

He has managed and performed with a number of bands including Urban Myth, Aftershock function band, 70s glam rock band Muffy and the Misfits before going on to working with Monique fronting 80s tribute band Munch. Both hit it off immediately and it was only a matter of time before they formed The Tonics.

Mark uses Fender and Gibson guitars, Hughes and Kettner amp and Selmer saxophones (lovingly referred to as his girls).
